Ruth Bennett (nee Kerutt), 86, a longtime Glen Ridge Resident passed away on June 29.
Ruth is predeceased by her husband Robert H. Bennett who passed away in 1963 and her parents Else & Frederick Kerutt. Ruth is survived by her loving daughter Elise and her husband Paul Varga.
Ruth was a School Secretary at the Forest Ave School in Glen Ridge and an organist at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bloomfield. She loved to cook and was an avid traveler. She will be missed by family and friends.

My parents, Martha and Fred Schmidt, were good friends of your grandparents. My mother was your mother’s Godmother. Your grandfather borded with my parents when he came to this country.
I remember your grandmother’s infectious laugh when the ladies had their koffee klatch. .Also, trips to the lake as a child when we lived in Jersey City.
I am a widow and live in the senior community Renaissance in Manchester. My cousin is Joan (Huebsch) Leather and she told me the sad news.
