BELLEVILLE, NJ – David Guerra and Michael Mejia each finished in second place in their respective weight classes to lead the Belleville High School varsity wrestling team at the NJSIAA District 11 tournament on Feb. 17 at Morristown HS.
In the 138-pound final, David Guerra lost to Michael Rubin of Hanover Park by a 6-2 decision, while Michael Mejia lost to East Orange’s Devonne Swann in the 195-pound final by a 6-3 decision in the 195 final.
Guerra and Mejia will advance to the Region 3 tournament at West Orange HS, Feb. 21, 23 and 24.
