AJ Cruz puts up a shot as BHS defeats Weequahic 66-61, on Feb. 14


BLOOMFIELD, NJ — The Bloomfield High School boys basketball and girls basketball teams featured several players who earned All–Super Essex Conference–Colonial Division this season, as voted by the divisional coaches. The following are the BHS honorees:
Boys
- First Team: juniors AJ Cruz and Sean Perrotta.
- Second Team: freshman Asaad Majuta.
- Honorable Mention: junior Cameron Arana.
Girls
- First Team: junior Inez Brewster.
- Second Team: senior Audrey McLaughlin.
- Honorable Mention: sophomore Isabella Bernhard.
The boys team finished with a 19-9 record this season. Cruz, a guard, averaged 20.3 points per game in 28 games played and enters his senior year with 979 career points.
Perrotta, a guard, averaged 14.1 points per game in 28 games played, scoring his 1,000th career point during the season. He enters his senior year with 1,023 points.
For the girls team, Brewster led the team in scoring with 194 points in 23 games played and will lead an experienced team next year, looking to improve on this year’s six-win season.
