WEST ORANGE, NJ – Seton Hall Prep cross-country runner Dan Gizzo gave a good effort at the NJSIAA State Meet of Champions at Holmdel Park on Saturday, Nov. 18.
Gizzo, a senior who resides in Nutley, finished 34th in a field of 188 runners. Gizzo was timed in 16:31 on the 3.1-mile course.
Gizzo advanced to the Meet of Champions after placing second in the NJSIAA Non-Public “A” Championship meet on Nov. 17 at Holmdel Park.
Gizzo won the Essex County Championships boys’ individual title with a time of 15:27. The meet was held at Brookdale Park in Bloomfield on Oct. 28.
