WEST ORANGE, NJ — The West Orange High School football team defeated Westfield, 28-14, in the quarterfinal round of the NJSIAA/Rothman Orthopedics, North Jersey, Section 1, Group 5, tournament held Nov. 5 in Suriano Stadium.
Touchdowns by Makhi Green, Marcus Green, Jelani Williams, and Saboor Kariemm put the Mountaineers on top. Touchdowns by Paul Cerro and Justin Colby of Westfield were not enough to pull off a comeback.
West Orange will face off against East Orange in the semifinal round on Nov. 13 in a game beginning at 1 p.m. in East Orange.
