MAPLEWOOD, NJ — 1978 Maplewood Arts Center is holding its annual holiday Art Shop, featuring small-scale, affordable, original artwork and crafts by local and regional artists. There will be an opening reception on Friday, Dec. 9, from 7 to 9 p.m. The Art Shop will remain open for two weekends — Saturdays and Sundays, Dec. 10, 11, 17 and 18, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
Many new artists and artisans have joined 1978 this year for the annual fundraiser, of which 20 percent of sales are donated to 1978 to help fund the special events, teaching programs and workshops throughout the year. Contributing artists include Sybil Archibald, Gary H. Berson, William Billec, Maya Bloom, Jo Bradney, Marguerite Brennan, Kathy Cantwell, Katie Clayton, Tara DalGleish, Mike Dziomba, Peggy Excell, Rose Flanagan, Denise Hardie, Aron Lifschultz, Lisa Lofdahl, Michael Lonardo, Chrissy McIntyre, Tara O’Leary, Sara Petruziello, Patricia Quirl, Mike Schloff, Sonya Sobieski, Jerry Starr, Louis Toledo, Cynthia Smith Weiss, Elizabeth C. Winchester and Joy Yagid.
