Celebration Sunday was wonderful

GLEN RIDGE, NJ — Celebration Sunday was observed Sunday, Sept. 8, at the Glen Ridge Congregational Church, with worship followed by an annual picnic on the lawn. The outdoor get-together gave church members the chance to continue their weekly chats with old friends, share some gossip with those who were away for the summer and also to properly welcome new church members. Residents from surrounding communities attend the church, and parents from Montclair and Bloomfield came to the picnic with their children.

It was also an opportunity for the Rev. Jeff Mansfield, who was new to the church in July, to greet everyone. There were hot dogs, hamburgers, plenty of homemade baked goods and kids playing ball. The weather could not have been better and it seemed that there really was a lot to celebrate.
