ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — Jewish Family Service of MetroWest NJ understands that back to school season is a hectic and stressful time for parents and children each year, as certain transition points in school can be particularly challenging, according to a recent press release. To help alleviate some of the anxiety, JFS will be offering a “Back To School Series.” If your child is transitioning into kindergarten, middle or high school, JFS has informative and free workshops to prepare you and your children for what lies ahead. The workshops will take place each evening from Aug. 22 through Aug. 25 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the JFS office located at 256 Columbia Turnpike, Suite 105, in Florham Park.

On Aug. 22, attend “Letting Go – Your Child Is Off To Kindergarten” for parents of children entering kindergarten. On Aug. 23, parents and children entering middle school are invited to “Reducing Middle School Stress.” “Navigating The Ins And Outs Of High School” on Aug. 24 is for parents to attend with their ninth- and 10th-graders. On Aug. 25, JFS invites students entering their junior year of high school to attend “Surviving The Pressures Of Junior Year of High School.”

All workshops are open to the community and are being offered free of charge. Each program will be facilitated by a licensed clinical social worker from JFS’ Child and Adolescent Department, specifically trained to deal with the unique needs of children and adolescents. For more information about the workshops or to register, call 973-765-9050. For more information on JFS Child and Adolescent Services, visit www.jfsmetrowest.org.
