NEWARK, NJ — The Associated Humane Societies shelters in Newark and Tinton Falls, along with nearly 700 animal shelters across the country, plan to “Clear the Shelters,” a nationwide pet adoption drive on Saturday, Aug. 19.
Adoption fees will be waived that day for approved adopters with a $50 donation for dogs and $25 for cats to cover spay/neuter costs and vaccinations. The goal is to help every adoptable animal find their forever home and make room to help other homeless animals. Adopt a pet at the Newark shelter, 124 Evergreen Ave. in Newark, from noon to 5 p.m. for this event.
