Glen Ridge HS boys’ basketball team defeats Brearley for first win of season

GLEN RIDGE, NJ – Sophomore Sam Trunley scored 16 points and senior co-captain Simon Low had 15 points to lead the Glen Ridge High School boys’ varsity basketball team to its first win of the season, 47-44, over Brearley on Saturday, Dec. 14 at Brearley in Kenilworth.

Senior co-captain Kevin Mathew and freshman Carter Koenig each had six points and junior Joe DeLuca added four points for the Ridgers, who improved to 1-1.

In the season opener the previous day, the Ridgers lost at Dunellen, 48-42. Low had 13 points; Trunley netted 11 points; and freshman Bryan Moussako contributed seven points. Freshman Michael Cifeli had five points; Mathew had four points and DeLuca added two points.
