GLEN RIDGE, NJ – Senior tri-captain Lindsay Jaiyesimi scored 12 points and junior tri-captain Jenny Lisovicz had 10 points to lead the Glen Ridge High School girls’ varsity basketball team to a 46-26 win over Cedar Grove on Jan. 25 at Cedar Grove.
Sophomore Haleigh Pine had seven points; sophomore Sarah Cullinan and sophomore Michaila Dowd each had six points and junior tri-captain Claire McMahon added five points for the Ridgers, who improved to a 7-8 overall record. GRHS avenged a 44-36 loss to Cedar Grove on Dec. 21 at home.
In earlier action, the Ridgers lost to West Essex, 35-32, Jan. 23 at West Essex in North Caldwell. McMahon had 14 points; Dowd had seven points and Pine added six points.
The Essex County Tournament seeding meeting was scheduled for Jan. 29.
