GLEN RIDGE – The Glen Ridge High School contingent at the state Group 1 Championship gave fine efforts at the Bennett Complex in Toms River.
Justin Dignan took eighth in the boys’ 800-meter run in 2:02.63. In the boys’ 3,200, Pelle Nogueira took 15th in 10:16.80 and Jack Looney finished 18th in 10:43.35. The boys’ 4×400-meter relay team took 10th in 3:37.60.
On the girls’ side for GRHS, Elizabeth O’Connell was ninth in the 1,600-meter run in 5:35.67.
The state Group 1 meet consisted of the top six finishers in each event from the sectional meets.
The top six finishers at the state Group 1 meet earned berths for the state Meet of Champions at the Bennett Complex on Feb. 27.
