GLEN RIDGE, NJ – Liz O’Connell won 1,600-meter run in 5:11.30 and finished second in both the 800-meter run in 2:21.60 and the 3,200-meter run in 11:40.13 to lead the Glen Ridge High School girls’ track and field team at the Essex County Championships held at Woodman Field in Montclair, May 18-19, under rainy conditions.
On the boys’ side, Glen Ridge was led by James Link and Isaiah Webster.
Link finished second in the discus event with a throw of 128 feet-8 inches. Webster placed fourth in the long jump with a leap of 21-5.
The GRHS teams will gear up for the NJSIAA North Jersey Section 2, Group 1 State Championships, May 25-26, at Ridge HS.
