WEST ORANGE – The Seton Hall Prep swim team won the team title at the Super Essex Conference/Essex County Championships held Jan. 18 at the Raritan Area Bay YMCA. It marked the 19th straight year that the Pirates won the county championship.
The Pirates won seven of the 11 events. The following the SHP winners:
200-yard medley relay: Colby Dixon, Gregory Spicka, Brandon Wang, Jared Kovacs, 1:39.15.
200-yard freestyle: Wang, 1:47.76.
100-yard freestyle: Dixon, 49.25.
200-yard freestyle relay:Ian D’Souza, Roo Fenton, Spicka, Kovacs, 1:32.48.
100-yard backstroke: Dixon, 53.77.
100-yard breaststroke: Wang, 1:01.38.
400-yard freestyle relay: D’Souza, Matthew Michaels, Dixon, Wang, 3:20.54.
The WOHS boys’ team finished ninth among the 11 teams. On the girls’ side, WOHS finished sixth among 10 teams. Golda Och Academy also had individual swimmers who took top-six finishes at the meet.
