NEWARK, NJ — Essex County Sheriff Armando Fontoura with his officers and elves delivered more than 5,000 holiday gifts throughout Essex County in December. Santa’s helpers made the first stop of their annual toy drive at the Salvation Army Headquarters in Newark. Electronic learning devices, sports equipment, arts and crafts materials, books, games, dolls and toy train sets were just part of the goodies that were given to needy children.
