GLEN RIDGE, NJ – Glen Ridge High School wrestlers Nicholas Fiorillo and Joe Marchesano gave strong efforts at the Region 3 tournament held at West Orange High School, Feb. 21, 23 and 24.
Fiorillo, at the 126-pound class, and Marchesano, at 170, each won in the first round before losing in the quarterfinals and in the wrestleback quarterfinals to become eliminated. They lost heartbreaking decisions in the wrestleback quarterfinals.
Fiorillo and Marchesano were the lone GRHS wrestlers at the region tournament, which consisted of the top three finishers in each weight class from the districts.

Fiorillo
First round, Feb. 21: won by 8-3 decision over Jarrett Weber of Lyndhurst/North Arlington.
Quarterfinals, Feb. 23: lost by pin to Patrick Glory of Delbarton in 0:47.
Wrestleback quarterfinals, Feb. 24; lost by 2-1 decision to Yousef Salem of North Bergen.
Marchesano
First round, Feb. 21: won by 5-0 decision over Deontae Ferrer, North Bergen.
Quarterfinals, Feb. 23: lost by 12-5 decision to Lance Wissing of Phillipsburg.
Wrestleback quarterfinals, Feb. 24: lost by 9-7 decision in sudden victory-1 against Nick Zarra of Hanover Park.
