As Nutley resident Helyna Bissell signs her letter of intent to play softball for Morehead State University, she is joined by her mother, Lisa Bissell; father James Bissell; and brother Gerald.
NUTLEY – Helyna Bissell, of Nutley, signed her NCAA National Letter of Intent on Nov. 11. She has committed to play softball at Morehead State University in Morehead, Ky. Bissell verbally committed to MSU in November 2014. Morehead State University competes in the NCAA Division I, Ohio Valley Conference.
“Helyna has a lot of experience playing in major travel tournaments across the country,” said MSU head coach David Williams. “Having faced top-level competition should prepare her to come in and contribute immediately.”
Bissell, a senior, will complete her high school career at Immaculate Conception High School in Lodi.
“Helyna is a leader on and off the field,” said ICHS athletic director and head coach Jeff Horohonich. “We are lucky to have her as we make our push for state history.”
