NEWARK, NJ — The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force, which includes detectives from the Newark Police Department, is investigating the fatal shooting of Shaquan Hatcher-Turner, 30, of Newark, according to an Oct. 2 press release from acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore Stephens II and Newark Public Safety Director Anthony Ambrose.
At approximately 3:10 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 27, Hatcher-Turner was shot on the 600 block of South 19th Street. He was transported to University Hospital and was pronounced dead at 3:35 p.m.
The investigation is active and ongoing. No arrests have been made.
